  1. The po/ directory includes two perlscripts, which is done to help
  2. making the translations fully uptodate.
  3. The first script is called update.pl and is supposed to be run like this:
  4. ./update.pl [OPTIONS] ...LANGCODE
  5. This will updates the pot file (the po template, generated from the source code)
  6. and merge them with the translations po files.
  7. For instance to do this for Danish, type the following
  8. ./update.pl da
  9. The update.pl script also supports other options, they are:
  10. -V, --version shows the version
  11. -H, --help shows this help page
  12. -P, --pot only generates the potfile
  13. -M, --maintain search for missing files in POTFILES.in
  14. Especially the --maintain option is very handy for package maintainer, to check
  15. if you included all the files that have marked strings in the POTFILES.in, so
  16. they will be in the generated po template, the socalled pot file.
  17. There is though one thing to take notice of with this option, please check the
  18. configure.in file to make sure that the files you add to POTFILES.in are being
  19. build, otherwise this can leed to "make dist" throuble.
  20. The other utility is the desk.pl script, which will check the cvs module for
  21. missing translation in files like *.desktop, *.directory, *.soundlist and so on.
  22. Run the script like this:
  23. ./desk.pl [OPTIONS] ...LANGCODE ENTRY
  24. An example use could be.
  25. ./desk.pl da
  26. which will check all the files for missing Name[da] entries, or
  27. ./desk.pl no Comment
  28. which will check all the files for missing Comment[no] entries. "Comment" can
  29. here be replaced with whatever you like
  30. All scripts support the --help option for further help, though it's not very
  31. extensive for the moment.
